About the Author
Dr . Badalament was born and raised in the Detroit metropolitan area. After graduating from Cranbrook High School, he obtained his B.S. in biology from Southern Methodist University and his M.D. from Emory University. He completed his urologic residency at Henry Ford Hospital and urologic-oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In 1988, he was certified by the American Board of Urology and the following year became a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. In 1987, he began working in the division of Urology at the Ohio State University. From 1992-1995, he was the Director of the Division of Urology, Director of Urologic-Oncology at eht Arthur G. James Comprehensive Cancer Center and Research Hospital, and Director of the Urologic Residency Program. During this time the Division of Urology was recognized as one of the best urologic programs by U.S. World and News Report and obtained National Cancer Institute funding for bladder cancer research. He has written or coauthored over 100 publications. Dr. Badalament moved to join the medical staff at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Michigan in June, 1995.
